DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:  This is the eighth Builders Day to be held at Folkestone Racecourse and this year it will be held on Friday 29th June. Admission for builders and associated trades will be just &pound;11 with a voucher which will be available on trade counters nearer the time at builder's merchants and suppliers within a 40 mile radius of the racecourse, so look out for those! 2012 sees the running of the &lsquo;Folkestone Hammer'. This is a six furlong handicap for three year olds and upwards rated 0-85 with a total prize fund of &pound;15,000. It is Folkestone's richest flat race of the year, and is sure to be a fiercely contested event. Not only will speed have to be at the fore but the ability to cope with Folkestone's unique undulations, testing the horse's balance and coordination to the maximum. Hammer is going to be the operative word as from the off the horses will be going hammer and tongs to the wire. This day is a great opportunity for companies to network with potential new customers while enjoying a day at the races. The evening race meeting on 12th July 2012 is an opportunity for us to raise awareness of the brilliant work that our Forces do and raise money for the Armed Forces and associated charities whilst  everyone has a great night out.So if you feel the need for speed then why not come along and watch the six fast and furious flat races, view some of the military trade stands on the day including military vehicles , Royal British Legion Bikers, RAFA, Rally For Heroes, Help Our Wounded to name but a few, and boogie the night away to some 80's tunes as the racing will be followed by the Brilliant  Bootleg Blondie and then an 80's disco compered by kmfm's very own Kirsten Read.  There will be competitions for Best 80's Fancy dress, best 80's hair style, and best Michael Jackson Moon Walk. And best fancy dressed character from the film Top Gun.The Racecourse Manager will be running a marathon before the first race around the inside track of Folkestone Racecourse to raise money for Forces charities. The charities she will be running for are for are as follows. SSAFA, Royal Marines Charitable Trust, ABF Soldiers Charity, The Royal British Legion and Help For Heroes. The RMCTF is the overarching Royal Marine charity and money raised can be used for very wide purposes, probably the widest of any service charity. The RMCTF is run by Royal Marines for Royal Marines, it is governed by a group of serving and retired Trustees who have a very wide view of need and a determination to ensure that any money donated is used to best effect. It benefits Serving and retired Royal Marines and their dependants.SSAFA is the UK's oldest Armed Forces charity. They provide practical help and assistance to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served, even if it was only for a single day. They are there for them and their families wherever they are.Each year, they support more than 50,000 people in the Armed Forces community. Because they believe that their bravery, dedication and commitment deserve a lifetime of support.Royal British Legion helps serving and ex-Service personnel and their families. Not just those who fought in the two World Wars, but also those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting today.The Legion provides practical care, support and advice to the Armed Forces community. Though their needs have changed over the last 90 years, the need for their work remains as vital as ever.The Soldiers' Charity supports the men and women who put everything on the line to defend us, and our country. They are there for them with lifetime support whether they are serving soldiers or veterans.They offer their hand to them as individuals and, when they need help, for their families. They stand by them in conflict and in peacetime, throughout their lives.The immediate help they offer is a lifeline. After the six flat races there will be a 'Take That tribute band &quot;The Take That Experience.  The Take That Experience recreates the true experience of Take That with replica costumes, extremely energetic choreography and of course the music that everybody loves. The performance is packed full of the hits including Back For Good, Relight My Fire, Could It Be Magic, Patience, Shine. Rule The World, Up All Night, Greatest Day, The Flood and many more. This 70 minute show will be followed by a disco until 10.30pm.
