STONE OF FOLCA'S entries for 2011

  • 11th May York - Duke of York Stakes 3.10pm
  • 21st May Haydock Temple Stakes
22nd May Singapore (Very unlikely he'll be good enough to run in this at this stage as he would need to be rated 115+ . It was a free entry)
  • 14th June Royal Ascot Kings Stand
  • 18th June Royal Ascot Golden Jubilee
We are still thrilled with his work at home and very excited about the season ahead!

Johns comments - I had a close look at STONE OF FOLCA on Wed 6th Oct to assess his development. I couldn't have been more pleased with what I saw. He has grown and generally physically progressed extremely well. The break has done him the world of good and I hope he will continue to strengthen over the coming months.

I can't wait until we get him out next year! John

After STONE OF FOLCA's race at York in the Nunthorpe Stakes STONE OF FOLCA is absolutely fine this morning after his race at York yesterday.

I hope those of you unable to make it managed to watch channel 4 racing where Scott (his lad) was interviewed as he walked STONE OF FOLCA over from the stables to the course. He also had the camera on him on the way to post with Jimmy Quinn. John believes that he travelled so well early on in the race, showing his breath taking speed and only his lack of physical strength got him beaten in the end. Due to this, John wants to put him away now until next year, to give him time to develop and mature. He will hopefully come back a stronger 3yr old. After his break, all going well, the plan is to bring him back into work in January, run him in a Maiden towards to end of April (obviously at Folkestone if we can!), then aim for the Temple Stakes at Haydock in May. Depending on what happens, John wouldn't rule out the Kings Stand at Royal Ascot, though we will make further plans during the course of the season.

STONE OF FOLCA has been declared to run on Friday 20th at York at 3.25pm. He has been drawn 12 from 13 runners and Jimmy Quinn rides him. John is delighted with his work at home and once again we are all looking forward to the race!

Folkestone Racecourse Owners Group horse STONE OF FOLCA impressive at Royal Ascot July 27th, 2010

STONE OF FOLCA AT GOODWOOD - Stone of Folca didn't disappoint at Goodwood yesterday following up his exciting performances at Royal Ascot last month. He tracked the leaders in the centre of the field in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes over 5f and made progress in the final furlong under jockey Jimmy Quinn. He challenged in the final 100 yards taking a well deserved second place, just missing out on a win by the narrowest of margins. Congratulations go to all the members of Folkestone Racecourse Owners Group who are thrilled with all of his performances to date
