New to Racing?

The sheer spectacle and colour of seeing racehorses and jockeys close up, the bustling activity that surrounds the betting, the lively excitement of the race itself, the sociability of a day out in the open air with family, friends or business associates, and the opportunity to win yourself a few pounds - you can't beat being there!

If you have never been racing then knowing where to start can be difficult. Here are some helpful tips when planning you day at the races and what to do when you're here.

Dress code
We do have a dress code which is smart casual. Smart jeans are permitted. No ripped jeans please. Most people like to dress up for the races particularly in the summer months.

Getting here
Folkestone Racecourse is easily accessible by road and rail. We have ample free parking on course with dedicated parking for our disabled guests. If you decide to come by rail, our nearest train station is Westenhanger and is a short walk from the course.

Racecards
Racecards are an essential guide giving all the information you need. If includes the runners and riders, form and general racecourse information. These will be available near the racecourse entrance. For hospitality clients and those who have purchased the restaurant package, your racecard will be waiting for you at your table.

Pets
There are no dogs allowed on course, except for guide dogs.

Photography
Photography is permitted around the racecourse, however flash photography near any horse, including the parade ring, the winners enclose and racetrack is strictly prohibited. Please disarm your flash in these areas to avoid stress to the horses.

Cash
A cash point withdrawal facility is situated opposite the turnstile entrance.
