Parade Ring

Make the most of your day

To ensure you don't miss any of the excitement and build up to races, follow this simple guide and the information boards around the course.

The Weighing Room - 30 minutes before the race
The jockeys will be weighing out whilst you study the form for the race. Their total weight, including the saddle, must meet a set limit for a particular horse in a particular race. Once the race has finished the jockeys will be required to weigh in again to ensure the weight remains the same.

The Pre-parade Ring - 20 minutes before the race
The horses will be brought from the stable to the pre-parade ring as part of their race preparations and led round by their grooms. This gives racegoers the first chance to study the horses as they stay warm.

The Parade Ring - 15 minutes before the race
The horses will be brought to the Parade Ring (also know as the Paddock) and is a must for racegoers! This gives you the chance to see the horse you back close-up before the racing starts.

Betting - 10 minutes before the race
There are a number of places to place a bet during the day. Once you've chosen the horse that takes your fancy, you can visit any of the bookmakers in the betting ring or visit a Tote or Ladbrokes shop. The current prices will be shown on the television screens around site.

The Racecourse - during the race
Find a great place to watch the race from and get ready to cheer your horse across the line!

The Winner's Enclosure - after the race
After the race has finished, all the horses will be taken back to the unsaddling area with the first 3 placed horses going into the Winner's Enclosure for racegoers to see. The presentation to the winning connection will be made here by the race sponsors.
